Franklinton Rising Transforming Homes & Lives


The non-profit group called Franklinton Rising held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday to celebrate a newly completed renovation project of a home on Chicago Avenue. The group is giving at-risk youth an opportunity to work alongside skilled contractors to learn valuable building trade skills.

18-year old Quinton Mayle is one of the teens who helped transform the once dilapidated house. "We sanded a lot. Cleaned. Did a lot of cleaning," laughed Mayle.
