The Institute for Research and Poverty reported that research suggests that each child in poverty can cost society between $500,000 and $1,500,000 over their lifetime due to lost economic productivity, increased healthcare costs, and social service usage.
Your support helps young adults develop skills for a productive life, basic construction skills, and values-based character development – integrity, accountability, perseverance, and purpose – drawn from biblical principles and offered to all participants regardless of their own beliefs, as well as transforming inner-city neighborhoods.

Two of our former apprentices and their spouses now own homes we rebuilt together. Between them they are raising eight children in stable, healthy environments. That’s twelve lives no longer caught in a cycle of poverty – and research suggests each of those individuals represents a potential $500,000 to $1.5 million in avoided societal costs over a lifetime. The math is compelling. But the real story is the families.
